With the continuation of The Friends of David Winter, the DWCC-UK is now operating as a luncheon club where current and past collectors of David Winter can meet and socialise. Please see the events page for dates.
The David Winter Collectors Club UK was the first such club founded in the UK. Our inaugural meeting took place in November 1993. The club is recognised and supported by the David Winter Collectors Guild as a local collectors club.
The DWCC-UK's aim is to meet, support and inform fellow collectors on the activities of David Winter and his cottages. We bridge the gap between your issues of Cottage Country, and information from the guild. We provide updates on new pieces and retirements, and on personal appearances by David. Our purpose is to share information received from Enesco, secondary market sources, other DW collectors clubs (here and abroad), and collectors themselves. We provide an opportunity to meet with other fellow collectors to discuss new pieces. We attend events such as Carnival, allowing us to meet, and perhaps recruit, other collectors who share our interest in David Winter Cottages. As a registered club, we are able to communicate the views of our members to the Guild and Enesco.
The DWCC-UK meet four times a year. Our meetings are held in the Southern Oxfordshire region, with the occasional special event elsewhere in the UK. Our close association with Enesco often allows us to have a preview of new pieces, even before photographs are available. As well as news updates, our meetings have included members draw, raffles, charity auctions, and guest speakers.
Members of the DWCC-UK receive newsletters and reports of club meetings. Special mailings are issued for urgent 'stop press' news. Information is provided about organisations of interest to collectors. Badges and T Shirts are also available. We aim to complement the Collectors Guild membership at local level.
